Very fine work from the Louis XV period, stamped Louis Moreau, master on September 27, 1764.
Curved on all sides, the top in exoticwood and stained marquetry, decorated with a basket of flowers and foliage, stands out against a rounded-angle background of rosewood framed with boxwood and violet wood fillet.
The canted corners are surrounded by a rosewood ingot mold.
The top is sliding and reveals a writing tray lined with gilded leather with a small iron in the center, which is vertically removable, and two removable side flaps on either side in violet wood, revealing storage compartments.
This curved belt forming a drawer is decorated all over with rosewood curling, surrounded by a boxwood fillet and framed in violet wood.
The four curved violet wood legs, chamfered with rosewood, end in gilt bronze sabots with foliate decoration.
Gilded bronze with leafy decoration for the drawer.
The particularity of this small table with compartments is the great finesse of the floral patterning which has kept a beautiful deep color of the stained sycamore.
