This soft-paste porcelain teapot was produced by the Sèvres manufactory in 1778. It is delicately hand-painted with floral motifs by the renowned decorator Charles-Nicolas Buteux and richly enhanced with gilding by Movhel-Barnarbé Chauvaux. Buteux was known for his elegant floral decorations on tablewares and decorative porcelain pieces. The gilding shows natural wear consistent with 18th-century age.
