Icon Encounter at the Golden Gate

This depiction shows the Herodian Temple in Jerusalem with the encounter between Joachim and Anne at the Golden Gate.
At the top, God the Father is depicted in a bank of clouds with his hands raised in blessing, with two angels at his side. Below, on the left, Joachim and Anne are depicted in a garden.

The individual scenes are framed within an architectural backdrop.
