Beautiful vestibule lantern in finely chiseled and gilded bronze.
Pentagonal in shape, with five sides adorned with blown glass.
The bronze frame has scalloped crosspieces topped with acanthus foliage; each upright is decorated at the top and bottom with rocaille scroll spandrels.
The whole is connected to the suspension hook by five elegantly crafted crosspieces.
The lantern retains its original blown glass smoke screen as well as its central three-light lantern.
Very well preserved; pierced for electrical wiring; wiring up to standard.
Parisian work, Louis XV period, circa 1760-1770.
