Raoul Larche (1860-1912), Tobie retirant le poisson de l’eau

A superb bronze sculpture titled Tobie retirant le poisson de l’eau, created by the renowned artist Raoul Larche around 1900. This exceptional piece is signed "Raoul Larche" at the tip and bears the stamp of the prestigious Susse Frères Paris foundry, along with the inscriptions "bronze" and "cire perdue."

Standing 51.5 cm tall (excluding the base), the sculpture features a beautiful nuanced green patina, highlighting the delicacy and realism of the subject. The scene depicts a fisherman capturing a large fish by hand, immortalizing the motion and moment with great expressiveness. The bronze rests on a veined, molded marble base, adding timeless elegance to the piece.

This rare work showcases the talent of Raoul Larche, an artist representative of the transition between naturalism and Art Nouveau, and would be a perfect addition to any collection of late 19th or early 20th-century art. A refined testament to the sculpture of its era.
