Marble bust of Ceres, Roman goddess of earth and fertility

MWhite marble sculpture from the 17th century.

Depicted as a beautiful young woman with long hair gathered at the nape of her neck and dropped over her shoulder.

The hairstyle is then adorned with flowers and ears of corn.

45 cm (height with base) x 25 x 12.5 (base diameter)

Ceres, mother goddess of earth, fertility and prosperity but also goddess of birth (since all flowers, fruit and living things were believed to be gifts from her)
