Pair of Regence period flat-back oak armchairs

Pair of large molded and carved oak armchairs upholstered with their original tapestry.
The wide, slightly upturned backs are upholstered in full with a basket-handle top rail.
The armrests are finished with scrolls resting on curved consoles.
The curved seat crosspieces, carved with shells and foliage, are joined by four curved legs decorated at the corners with a fleuron at the top and scrolls at the base.
The armchairs have a very fine patina, have never been dismantled and have their original upholstery with the upholsterer's original mounting.
