Beautiful and large sculpture representing Saint Anne educator. She is standing, her bust slightly tilted forward and her head bowed, no doubt she is leaning towards her daughter The Virgin Mary.
She wears a veil with an undulating border on her head. It thus frames her beautiful and sweet face and it falls slightly on the shoulders. She is dressed in a long dress and a nicely pleated shawl. She holds in her right hand a book - symbol of teaching.
This statue is made in two parts, it has a large round hole in the back, characteristic work of Mayenne.
Good condition. Wear and lack of polychromy. Missing left hand.
