Attributed to the Maison Beurdeley, one of the most important dynasties of furniture makers in the 19th century (1818-1895), particularly appreciated for the quality of their bronze mounts and the choice of precious materials for the ornamentation of their furnishings. Directly inspired by a model by cabinetmaker Jean-Henri Riesener, executed in 1784 for the interior cabinet of Marie-Antoinette's small Tuileries apartment, and now in the Louvre Museum.
