Folding silver spoon with a mermaid

A rare folding silver spoon surmounted with a mermaid.

English or Dutch, 17th century.

Measures 16cm in length when unfolded.

The reverse of the spoon is engraved with the initials of a previous owner ‘MH’.

The spoon is contained within a bespoke Victorian leather case.
