Two elegant women, by Georges de Feure (1869-1943)

Two elegant women, gouache on paper by Georges de Feure, in an art nouveau period leather frame with oak leaves (slight scratches)
According to Louis Vauxcelles, Georges de Feure was a true "one-man band" of the Art Nouveau movement. He was most famous for his collaboration with Siegfried Bing for the Maison de l'Art Nouveau.
The motif and the colors of the foliage can be compared to a carpet project, realized between 1900 and 1903 and preserved at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris (inv: CD2697) and presented in the catalog (p.85) of the Georges de Feure exhibition at the Musée Départemental Maurice Denis "Le Prieuré" in 1995.
Frame dimensions : Width : 69cm Height : 80cm
