Saint in polychrome wood, late 16th century

Charming polychrome walnut wood sculpture representing a Saint in a slightly swaying posture.
She is dressed in a large dress belted at the waist as well as a coat falling gracefully in broken folds to her feet. Her veil partly covers a very long hair sliding in graceful undulations on her shoulders.
Her face expresses great gentleness and you can guess the outline of a smile on her lips.
Note also the serenity that emanates from this pretty carved wood from the end of the Italian Renaissance.
