Léon Richet took part in the Salon des Artistes Français from 1869. He obtained an honorable mention there in 1885.

Richet is above all an assiduous painter of the forest of Fontainebleau. His much admired painting "a road in the forest of Fontainebleau" draws the public's attention to him. He exhibited at salons organized by the Société des Artistes Français from 1880 to 1906

Léon RICHET was a pupil of Ambroise DETREZ at the Académie de Valenciennes, then of Narcisse DIAZ, Jules LEFEBVRE and Gustave BOULANGER, in Paris.
