Early 19th Miniature in ivory. Davida Angélique Marguerite Schickler

Miniature on ivory presented in an oval frame. Miniature representing a young child in swaddling clothes and seated lace cap holding in his hands a fruit. On the reverse, an inscription reads "Davida Angélique Marguerite Schikler baronne de Schikler" 1801-1884. The Schickler family were powerful bankers of Basel origin, primarily funding princes of the Old German Empire. Davida Angélique Marguerite married Jean-Georges Schickler. She died in 1884 in Baden-Baden.
