An imposing bowl made of red Egyptian porphyry with mouldings and gadroons, supported by three children fishing for shells in patinated bronze. One of them is sitting on a dolphin and blowing a conch shell. The lively base is strewn with shells and reeds. The group rests on a circular base, also in porphyry, encircled by pearls and laurel leaves in gilded bronze.
Late 18th century to early 19th century.
