Carved red sandstone head of a handsome young man, his wavy hair in a central part, having the typically neutral features of late Romanesque ecclesiastical sculpture. The number "1379" has been carved (probably later) on the flat back mounted on a recent black museum stand. Very serene expression, almost in an eternal state of slumber. Some guys have all the luck!
Head alone is 8" (+/- 21x14x13cm) tall or 14 1/4" (+/- 37cm) with stand. Slight wear to nose.
