Imposing double face bureau inlaid wood violet gilt bronze mount Louis XV style, second half nineteenth century.

the scalloped tray covered with brown leather and surrounded by an ingot mold. The belt with violet wood marquetry opening three drawers, resting on arched feet ending with claw hooves.
Inspired by Charles Cressent's model, this imposing desk represents the know-how and quality of 19th century cabinetmakers.
We note the rich ornamentation of gilded bronze; falls with heads of women, hooves, lock entrance, mold, staples.

We can assign this office to E. Kahn & Co. A company that produces and sells French style furniture, incorporating the most famous cabinetmakers of the 18th century. (Weisweiler, Stockel, Benneman, Cressent, Gaudreaux and Riesener).
