An Empire secretary by Bernard Molitor

A mahogany flap secretary presents a drawer belt, a counterweight flap reveals five drawers (and two secrets whose mechanisms will be disclosed to the owner), two leaves at the bottom unmask three English drawers in solid mahogany. Detached columns. Rich decoration of carved and gilt bronzes. An ingenious system makes it possible to hide the lock entries.
A pair of dressers of the same type (same bronzes and mounts were ordered by Jerome Bonaparte (king of Westphalia) for the castle of Kassel in 1809.
Bernard MOLITOR got his master on October 26, 1787.

Condition report: restored in our workshop January 2019. Traditionl french varnish. Traces of old restorations, small lack on the central bronze of the bottom (possibility to remake the missing piece). The price includes the change of the leather (color and gold ornamentation according to the taste of the buyer. Good condition (locks, keys and bronzes are original)
