Beautiful empire mahogany architects table by Jean-Joseph Chapuis (1765-1864). Jean-Joseph Chapuis (born in Brussels) was a famous furniture maker. He obtained a master craftsman title in Paris allowing him to personally mark his work. It can be height adjusted in multiple ways. It has a double ratcheted hinged rectangular top above a drawer. The top panel is made out of leather. The square tapering legs have brass feet. Green felt on the inside.
Marked at least two times with ‘Chapuis’.
