A pupil of Gérôme, then of Glaize and Emmanuel Lansyer, he started at the Salon de Paris in 1880. He took part in the Salon des Artistes Français, of which he became Associate in 1899.
Painter of scenes of bourgeois domestic life, as shows Young women with the parakeet, he also painted views of mountains taken in the Alps
