Very beautiful chiffonnier from the Louis XVI era in high quality mahogany veneer, fine grain with beautiful hues
opened by 9 drawers of different sizes. A ridge separates the last drawer from the second-last drawer. Each side has 2 frames, highlighting the quality of the mahogany.
Includes the CANABAS stamp and markings of the "JME" guild, representing the Cabinetmaker carpenters.
Joseph GENGENBACH, also known as CANABAS: born in Germany in 1712 and died on July 11, 1797. He is the expert in small mahogany furniture (the Grand Master of small mahogany furniture). Cabinetmaker and carpenter, he utilised massif and veneer equally well. Hight: 162 cm width: 95 cm depth: 40 cm Joseph GENGENBACH, also known as CANABAS, Parisian cabinet maker, became a Master on 1 April 1766.
