Nîmes Provencal Commode, Louis XV period

Carved walnut chest of drawers opening to two drawers and resting on four goat feet. The scalloped cut of the top, the undulation of the legs, the openwork treatment of the lower crosspiece are typical of the rocaille style. The walnut top is carved in the shape of a spout.
This model of walnut jumper is typically Provencal and more particularly from the Nîmes region.
The handles of the drawers as well as the entries of lock are in gilded bronze. This chest of drawers does not have a lock and this since the origin. No trace of fixation has been observed.
No restoration has been done.
