Large Processional Cross, Italy 18th Century

Large altar cross, or rather a processional cross (the stand is from the same period but of inferior craftsmanship, and was therefore created to hold the cross). Carved and gilded softwood, polychromed and decorated with the mysteries of the Rosary painted in thirteen medallions. Signs of wear and some missing pieces, but very striking in appearance.
