China lacquered inkwell and porcelain mid 18th century

An inkwell consisting of a Chinese lacquer tray supported by eight gilded bronze legs, holding two white porcelain cups "méliforme" ; one containing a small cup for ink, the other for salt; the rear of the inkwell features two gilded bronze holders mounted on silver branches, designed to hold a quill.
