An openwork rocaille base in gilded bronze, holding a Meissen porcelain figurine depicting a gardener watering a tree made of Saxon porcelain flowers; a Sceaux porcelain cup, placed on a tripod, thus simulating a reservoir serving as an inkwell. A small side cup inserted into the rocaille base, serving as a salt reservoir to dry the ink.
