Swiss money changer’s table, late 17th century

Table with an octagonal marquetry top surmounted by an octagonal marble slab. It rests on four turned baluster legs joined by an H-shaped stretcher.
The marquetry decoration is composed of local woods (Alpine walnut, shaded walnut, beech, hornbeam, etc.), principally depicting heraldic lions.
It opens with a large front drawer.
Tables with very similar unsigned tops were attributed to the celebrated cabinetmaker Thomas Hache by auctioneers during the late 20th century.
In excellent condition; one small finial beneath the drawer is missing.
