Florentine, Renaissance, Period marriage cassone

In solid carved walnut with a beautiful patina, finely carved with coats of arms upon the front panel, an exquisite guilloche pattern framing the whole façade, masques personifying the winds flanking each end; surmounted by a tabernacle lid, the bottom apron adorned with a gadrooned motif, the whole resting upon four lion's paw feet. Circa 1580.
