Square-shaped and finished in kinji gold lacquer, it features a design on all sides depicting kiku (chrysanthemum) flowers in mother-of-pearl, along with mountains and birds. The base is finished in nashiji lacquer, and the box's rim is made of shibuichi alloy.
Signed Michiba Soko. A lacquer artist from Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture.
Period: 20th century. Original Artist Tomobako.
