A large circular alabaster basin, decorated halfway up with a frieze of heart-shaped scrolls, flowers, and openwork palmettes at the top; it is supported by three chains, held by three gilded bronze crooks, connected to an upper finial decorated with a gilded bronze rosette. The lower part of the basin is decorated with a large bronze rosette adorned with a pine cone.
French or Italian work, Restoration period, circa 1830
In good overall condition, with three whitish stains on the body.
