Table or console in molded, carved oak with a grey patinated lacquered finish. It is topped with a molded white marble slab. Beautifully carved scrolling motifs adorn the frieze, with boldly projecting joint blocks, fluted and tapered legs with rudenting, and a shaped stretcher decorated with a row of piastres and centered by a deeply carved rosette.
Beautiful carving with elegant proportions, particularly in the stretcher. This console has the great advantage of standing on four legs, meaning it does not need to be fixed to the wall like a wall console. Although it appears large, its shallow depth gives it a relatively small footprint.
It is perfectly suited for use as a vestibule console or as a serving table in a dining room.
A charming 18th century piece, ideal for a country house. Very good overall condition, sound structure and well preserved, with minor restorations (old reinforcement beneath the stretcher).
