His Majesty Charles X, King of France and Navarre, bust in patinated bronze on a yellow Siena marble pedestal mounted with patinated bronze. The King wears his traditional dark blue uniform embroidered with silver, displaying the star of the Order of the Holy Spirit, the Golden Fleece, the Cross of Saint Louis, the Legion of Honour, and the sash of the Order of the Holy Spirit. A Royalist object from the Restoration period, circa 1830.
Our piece is a versatile decorative object, ideal for complementing an early 19th century interior. A fine-quality bronze cast, with the decorations and details of the uniform delicately chased. The King's features are clearly recognizable, particularly his characteristic chin.
It can serve as a centerpiece on a commode, mantelpiece, or secrétaire (particularly useful for avoiding the placement of several clocks in the same room).
Very good overall condition, complete, with a beautiful dark brown-black patina. Some minor chips to the marble, including a small chip to the upper rear corner.
