A beautiful and very sensitive late Mannerist bronze statuette of the mourningVirgin Mary, probably originally looking up at a Crucifixion and flanked by abalancing figure of St John. Still retaining part of the original fire-gilding.

Good condition for the age, mounted on a later turned-woodbase. Beautiful patination.
