“Originally from Mont-Saint-Aignan, Narcisse Hénocque first practiced painting as an amateur. Noticing his abilities while he was painting in a garden in Rouen, Joseph Delattre invited him to join his classes. Hénocque, who would pursue both a career as an employee in an insurance company and as a painter.
In this view of the Pré aux Loups, created around 1905–1910, one can observe the strong influence of his teacher.”
