From 1902 onward, Joseph Delattre settled in Petit-Couronne, downstream from Rouen, just steps away from his favorite subject: the Seine. An accomplished painter, he excelled at capturing the shifting atmospheres that envelop the river and shimmer in its waters. This mastery earned him the nickname “the painter of the Seine.”
