A painter devoted to working from direct observation, Delattre developed a subtle body of work grounded in delicate, often grey-toned harmonies, which lend his landscapes a quiet, poetic atmosphere. Today, his works — notably preserved at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Rouen thanks to the Depeaux donation — bear witness to his major role within the Rouen School.
