Mahogany reading table forming a lectern, late 18th century

A mahogany and mahogany veneer reading table from the late 18th century, forming a lectern. The top is mounted on a rare hand-adjusted “cheré” bronze mechanism.

It rests on two lateral supports ending in legs fitted with castors.

In perfect condition, stamped Jean-Baptiste Canabas and bearing the guild stamp.
