A rare pair of chests of drawers in mahogany and mahogany veneer; rectangular in shape with rounded corners adorned with gilded brass fluting, they open with two paneled drawers on the front, framed by gilded brass, as are the sides. They rest on four tapered legs embellished with gilded brass and topped with spandrels; chiseled and gilded bronze: lock plates, pull handles, corner rosettes. Breccia marble tops; very fine metalwork.
Louis XVI period, work attributable to Jean-Gotlieb Frost, master cabinetmaker in Paris in 1785.
In very fine condition.
