French bronze, late 19th century. An elegant and expressive bust of a young Bohemian woman, the work of the Franco-Italian sculptor Emmanuel Villanis, one of the most emblematic artists of the Art Nouveau period. The work is distinguished by the delicate modeling of the face, the gentle and contemplative expression, as well as the lifelike and naturalistic treatment of the hair and headscarf. The ornate earring and pendant reinforce the exotic and romantic character so characteristic of Villanis's female figures. The subtle contrast between the finely polished skin and the more rugged, sculptural base gives the piece a strong visual presence. The warm, nuanced golden-brown patina accentuates the details while conveying an impression of luxury. Signed "Villanis" and titled "Fille de Bohème" (Bohemian Girl) on the base. Dimensions: Height: 60 cm, Width: 26 cm, Depth: 24 cm. A high-quality decorative and representative work, ideal as a centerpiece in a classic or eclectic interior.
