Offered by Emmanuel Redon Silver Fine Art
Silverware and Silversmith of the 19th and 20th centuries
An important pair of solid silver ceremonial candelabra with three candle arms plus a central one. With a slender and majestic silhouette, each candelabra rests on a richly molded circular base supporting a tall, faceted stem, entirely chased with scrolls, cartouches, and neoclassical motifs.
The stem is adorned with finely modeled, raised female masks framed by garlands and stylized foliage, giving the whole a remarkable sculptural presence. The elegantly curved arms extend with balance and symmetry, highlighted by fluting and scrolls, and supporting gadrooned candle holders.
The pair testifies to the goldsmith's virtuosity, combining decorative richness with perfect harmony of proportions. A rare pair, ideal for collectors of French silverware and lovers of large decorative pieces.
