Boin Taburet – Covered terrine and stand in solid silver, 19th century

An important covered terrine in solid silver, accompanied by its stand, executed in the elegant and refined style of the Regency period. Its balanced and architectural rectangular shape with canted corners gives it a strong presence and a noble line.
The finely chased decoration on a matte background reveals very high-quality silversmithing: scrolls and cartouches in the style of "BERAIN" unfold with elegance, while the handles sculpted with foliate mascarons add relief and character to the whole. The domed lid, topped with a gadrooned finial, harmoniously completes the composition.
The matching stand, generously proportioned, rests on four scrolled feet chased with finials. It echoes the same scalloped lines and delicate moldings, offering perfect visual unity and a spectacular table setting. An iconic piece from the Boin Taburet firm, this terrine brilliantly illustrates the revival of 18th-century styles in late 19th-century French silversmithing. A ceremonial terrine, intended for grand reception tables, it combines prestige, elegance, and craftsmanship.
