Our painting depicts Jerusalem in a frame inlaid with the instruments of Christ's passion.

In the center, we can see a view of Jerusalem, rendered in light, slightly blurred tones:
The ramparts, buildings, and surrounding hills are depicted in an almost visionary manner, more spiritual than topographical.
The city seems suspended, unreal,

Above, the sky dominates the scene.
Heavy, dark clouds gather, streaked with red and white lightning, creating a dramatic contrast with the pale light of the landscape.
This contrast suggests divine intervention or an apocalyptic event, a recurring theme in religious iconography linked to Jerusalem.

The wooden frame is just as important as the painting itself. It is decorated with numerous engraved symbols representing the Passion of Christ and the Stations of the Cross: crosses, tools, geometric figures, liturgical and domestic objects.
