Bronze rooster with a brown patina, signed on the base LIOUL, and numbered 1/8. Foundry mark. Guy Lioult is an artist born in France in 1955. He is an animal sculptor. He follows in the footsteps of great masters such as Pompon, Barye, Bugatti, and Mène, whose works he studied and studied before distinguishing himself from them. Lioult favors the observation and representation of wild and domestic animals. After extensive study, he determines the posture that highlights the animal's character, whether hunter or watcher. He fully embraces the paradox of choosing an ancient material, bronze, to renew a style of sculpture marked by classicism, while simultaneously cultivating a field of contemporary artistic exploration.
