History:
Pieter Hermansz Verelst, born in Dordrecht in 1618 and died in Hulst in 1678.
A painter from Dordrecht, he spent some time in The Hague.
He is especially famous for genre scenes, though he also produced some religious scenes.
He was a pupil of Rembrandt, and possibly also of Gerrit Dou.
