Mahogany console with a white Carrara marble top and shelf. A pierced gallery with geometric motifs runs around the perimeter of the piece. An interlaced frieze alternating with asparagus-leaf motifs adorns the apron. The uprights feature fluting on all four sides. The console rests on four tapered legs fitted with gilt-bronze sabots.

Charles-Erdmann Richter – cabinetmaker. Master on February 4, 1784. Supplier to the Mobilier de la Couronne. He distinguished himself in the production of mahogany furniture, such as roll-top desks, bookcases, commodes, consoles, and occasional tables.
