Jewellery box from the Imperial Tula Manufactory steel – Russia late 19th century

The metalwork displays a richly elaborate decoration composed of rose garlands, foliage, scrolling motifs, and finely ornamented circular medallions, executed with silver and brass inlay following the traditional techniques of the Tula craftsmen.

The surfaces are meticulously hatched, granulated, and polished, bearing witness to the exceptional virtuosity of the workshops, which were also renowned for producing luxury arms.

The interior is lined with its original red velvet, and the lid is fitted with a glazed compartment.
The casket rests on four steel feet and is accompanied by its original key.
