Offered by Brozzetti Antichità
This elegant pair of large Empire consoles was crafted in Tuscany in the early 19th century. The consoles feature a rectangular top in black lacquered wood. The front is fitted with a large veneered wooden drawer, adorned with finely chiselled gilt bronze handles and applications. On the sides, lyres with ribbons and volutes are depicted, while in the centre, two griffins with scrollwork and leafy elements symmetrically frame the keyhole escutcheon.
The consoles rest on four black-toned lacquered columns with gilt bronze capitals and bases, standing on a shaped plinth. Due to their significant dimensions and distinctly decorative character, these consoles are ideal for entryways, corridors, and salons, as well as formal settings. They can be paired with antique furnishings or integrated into modern interiors.
Some small losses to the veneered wooden parts are noted.
