An exceptional pair of identical freestanding Art Nouveaudisplay counters in richly polished mahogany, originally designed for ajewellery boutique. Each counter features elegant, rounded ends and flowing,sinuous lines characteristic of the Art Nouveau period. The upper section comprises a vitrine display case withcurved and bevelled cut-glass panels and top, allowing for an elegantpresentation of jewellery or other fine objects. Below, the counters are fittedwith multiple drawers adorned with finely cast gilt-bronze handles, providingboth beauty and practicality. Beautifully detailed on all sides, these counters wereconceived to stand freely in the room or dressing room, making them visuallystriking from every angle. A remarkable example of late 19th-century commercialcraftsmanship, combining utility with refined artistic design.
