Sugie Ôken II, (1873-1957) is the second generation of artists of the Sugie family from the Tokoname region, Aichi Prefecture, specialized in the manufacture of terracotta objects.

This sculpture is signed and dated 1951, mentioning the age of the artist (77 years old).

It comes with its original wooden box (tomobako). Unique piece.
