Until the Revolution, he worked on rue de Charenton, then moved his workshop to rue des Fossés-du-Temple. He excelled in the manufacture of luxury furniture, executed with great taste but in a rather austere manner. Marquetry is almost non-existent. Fine bronze frames surround large sheets of mahogany and sometimes rosewood veneer. All his work demonstrates a great attention to detail and perfection.
