Marine Allegory - Charles X Clock, Circa 1830

Elegant gilt bronze clock with double patina depicting a graceful allegory of the Sea.
The goddess, crowned with flowers and in a dreamy attitude, is seated on a rock, leaning on an anchor symbolizing stability and maritime security. At her side, a cornucopia overflows with fruit and flowers, evoking fertility and abundance.
The whole rests on a finely chiseled bronze base, decorated with a trireme similar to that of Ulysses, surmounted by a cup filled with flowers, the whole crowned with a floral garland.
The dial adorned with a delicate floral garland, completes this harmonious and refined ensemble.

French work.

Circa 1830
